Today the BBC has announced Sport Relief 2010, the chance to get active, raise money and change lives with the 2010 Sport Relief promised to be the biggest ever.

Founded by the BBC in 2002, the Sports Relief charity event has raised millions of pounds to help improve the lives of the disadvantaged and vulnerable, both at home and in some of the world’s poorest countries. And this year the 2010 Sports Relief promises to be the biggest ever.

Once again, Sport Relief will bring together a host of famous faces from BBC sport and entertainment. But with Eddie Izzard running a record 43 marathons in 51 days, the celebrity standard has already been set incredibly high.

The various celebrity challenges will culminate in the 2010 Sport Relief weekend, which takes place from the 19th to the 21st of March with an exciting line up of entertainment BBC TV and Radio including special editions of MasterChef, Top Gear and A Question of Sport Relief.

Meanwhile, thousands are expected to take part in the Sport Relief Mile events, which take place across the length and breadeth of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
